I’m single but I don’t want to mingle

Across all social media, twitter instagram facebook ect.. I see people getting engaged, having babies, buying houses and getting married and that’s great for them but that just isn’t for me.

I’ve been single for almost three years now and despite the pressure of society saying i need to meet someone and realistically at twenty four years old i should be settling down by now - i’m incredibly happy not being in a relationship.
For me i’ve had nothing but bad exprience after bad experience when it comes to relationships and since my last one i made a pact with myself to stay single until i was truly ready to be with someone again. It isn’t just about trust issues and physcological issues which my past relationships have caused me it’s about me learning to love myself for who i am and learning to be independant - in learning to love myself i will learn and realise exactly what i want from a relationship and a partner.

I’m in no rush to settle down and find someone to be with because i don’t particularly desire children so there for my biological clock isn’t a massive issue to me. I could meet someone at fifty and finally decide to settle down and thats okay.
I want to focus all my energy on myself and on developing my career after i graduate university. I gave a lot of my teenage years to the wrong people, emotionally and physically and now it’s my time.

You don’t need to be in a relationship to be happy. Your happiness is down to you.
